Diwali Celebrations at EY Gurugram Go Viral Amid Ongoing Work Culture Controversy

A video showcasing Diwali celebrations at Ernst & Young’s (EY) Gurugram office has gone viral, captivating social media after CA Sneha Chanchlani, an employee, posted it on Instagram. The video, which has already amassed over a million views, captures employees in vibrant ethnic attire enjoying a festive fashion show and walking down a red carpet as colleagues cheer them on.

While many viewers celebrated the joyful atmosphere, the video sparked controversy as some social media users linked the celebrations to the recent death of former EY employee Anna Sebastian Perayil, who allegedly passed away due to “excessive” work pressure.

In September, Anna’s mother, Anita Augustine, wrote an open letter to EY India Chairman Rajiv Memani, attributing her daughter’s passing to overwhelming job demands. Memani responded with condolences, expressing his sadness over the incident but refuting the family’s claims regarding her workload.

The video has since fueled discussions online, with some questioning work culture in high-demand professions. As the video continues to gain traction, EY India finds itself in the spotlight, facing both celebration and scrutiny.
